Where can I find the release notes for my product version?

The release notes for all currently supported products can be found on the Perforce website and on the Perforce FTP site.

The release notes are located in release-specific folders.  For example, on the FTP site, the 2012.1 release notes can be found here:

You can always browse from the top level FTP directory to the release version of your choosing.
For example, to find release notes for the 2011.1 release, browse to the /r11.1 directory and then to the /doc/user sub-directory where all of the release notes for that release are found.
Otherwise, if you have a valid URL for a different version of the release notes, just change the abbreviated release string, for example, from 'r12.1' to 'r11.1':

The Perforce website only links to the release notes for the latest release. The current release notes for all products are linked from the following page:

For example, the latest Perforce Server (P4D) release notes are found here:

In order to access older release notes from the website, you must replace 'doc.current' string with the appropriate string for the release version of interest. Note that there are two URL formats: one from 2009.2 and previous release, and one for 2010.1 and later. For example, for version 2009.2 and earlier releases, replace '/doc.current' with '/doc.092':

Beginning with version 2010.1, the website URL format changed to user the /rNN.N syntax. For example:

Installed release notes

On Windows, the release notes can also be found in your product installation directory. For example, after a default install, the release notes for "P4, the Perforce Command-Line Client, and P4D, the Perforce Server" are found here:

C:\Program Files\Perforce\relnotes.txt

For P4V, the Perforce Visual Client, the default location is:

C:\Program Files\Perforce\p4vnotes.txt
