How to install P4VS in Visual Studio 2017

After installing Visual Studio 2017 I cannot find P4VS from the Windows Marketplace and when installing P4VS from p4vs11.vsix I am getting "This extension is already installed to all applicable products" error.
P4VS for Visual Studio 2017 has not yet been released. However, you can install P4VS in Visual Studio 2017 after having modified its latest vsix file.
Here is the procedure to follow:
  1. Download p4vs11.vsix from our ftp site
  2. Rename p4vs11.vsix as
  3. Double click on the file
  4. From the folder, copy the extension.vsixmanifest file to your Desktop
  5. Edit your Desktop extension.vsixmanifest file:
    1. Add these lines under the <SupportedProducts> section:
      <VisualStudio Version="15.0">
    2. Replace this line :
      MinVersion="4.0" MaxVersion="4.5" />
      by this one:
      SupportedFrameworkRuntimeEdition MinVersion="4.0" MaxVersion="4.6.2" />

  6. Copy back your modified extension.vsixmanifest file to the folder
  7. Rename to p4vs11.vsix
  8. Double-click your modified p4vs11.vsix file to start the installation of P4VS
  9. When prompted with "The following extensions are not compatible with Visual Studio 2017, click the "Yes" button
  10. When prompted with "Installation complete", click the "Close" button. you can now start Visual Studio 2017
Note that some users reported that P4VS has been disabled in their Visual Studio 2015 environment, if it is the case you simply need to re-enable P4VS from the Visual Studio 2015 Extension and Updates pane.
